- Examine, analyse, and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements (IFRS for SME’s and Full IFRS)
- Reviewing of Auditing (A-risk and normal), Review and compilation files for reporting to the director
- Responsible to ensure audit quality and risk management in the review process
- Assisting in the management of SAICA audit clerks and the TSR/PSR process timeously
- Training of the 3 – 7 SAICA trainees – coaching as needed
- Being the first point of contact for personnel queries relating to auditing and quality
- Leading the team at the client in the absence of the director
- Dealing directly with clients and selling additional work
- Project management of 3 audits or more at the same time
- Supervision of the audit Personnel and projects
- Liaising with the client on audit related matters
- Assisting in personnel evaluation and feedback with the assistance of the audit manager
- Report writing – Full reporting
- Issuing and reviewing of all assurance related billings done
- Ensuring that you meet the minimum billings hours as per the BVA standards
- Managing fees to the value of at least R 3 millon for the firm on an annual basis
- Managing of the working capital – WIP and Debtors of all allocated clients
Requirements and characteristics to be shown:
- B.Com – Accounting or equivalent degree studied at SAICA accredited university
- Completed SAICA articles at at least a similar or bigger firm as BVA
- A meticulous and detailed person for the initial review on files to be performed
- Must be able to take personal responsibility and to be pro-active
- Outgoing and strong personality
- Must demonstrate personal and time management skills in order to ensure deadlines are met.
- Must be good at leading a team and persons from different backgrounds
- High Technical ability (IFRS, Companies Act, International Standards of Auditing, Tax)
- Good knowledge of external audit methodology
- Caseware knowledge and experience is a benefit
- Own transport and a valid drivers license is preferred
- Travelling to clients, local and national will be required
- Overtime will be required from time to time to meet client deadlines
